Creapure Review
Why Creapure?
Creapure is an extremely pure form of creatine produced in the strictest industrial specifications in Germany. AlzChem Trostberg GmbH is responsbile for manufacturing the creatine and it is tested to meet a minimum quality standard of 99.5% pure creatine monohydrate. Purity is important because impurities in the creatine can be harmful when consumed and are not beneficial towards muscle building.
Is Creapure a Brand?
Creapure is a creatine manufacturing brand based in Germany, but they do not produce their own supplements available for consumers. Instead are a supplier for other supplement companies. This may sound confusing at first, but basically it means that they produce the creatine at an industrial level and sell it to other companies for bottling and distribution. The easiest way to determine which brand of creatine to purchase is to look for the Creapure logo on the label. It will usually be prominantly displayed since Creapure is a well-regarded brand and a big selling point for most creatine products. I have listed a variety of the most common brands below.
-Optimum creatine powder
-Ultimate Nutrition creapure
-Kaizen Micronized Creatine
-Prolab Creatine
These are just a starting point, as there are many other brands of creatine that are made with Creapure. As I mentioned before, just look for the Creapure logo and you will be good to go.
Which one should I choose?
The most important factor when choosing is to look for the Creapure logo. As long as it is displayed on the product then you can be sure that the creatine is of the highest quality. Additional ingredients may have benefits, but most of the time they are merely adding to the cost of the product without the same proven benefits as creatine. For that reason I suggest buying products that have Creapure creatine monohydrate or Creapure micronized creatine as the only ingredient and contain a dosage of at least 5 grams per serving.
What does Micronized Mean?
Micronized creatine is creatine monohydrate that has been crushed into an extremely fine powder. Normal creatine monohydrate is sometimes difficult to mix into water, but micronized creatine easily mixes into water. Micronizing the creatine also has the effect of improving your body's ability to absorb creatine. Creapure is available micronized, and is a great choice for someone who has never taken creatine before. The reason that it is a great choice is because micronized creatine helps to minimize any potential side-effects due to its easier absorbtion. Additionally, the gritty taste of creatine monohydrate may be off putting to first-time users, so micronized creatine will allow you to avoid this issue.
German Creatine vs. Other Countries
German manufacturers of creatine have the most stringest quality standards in the world, and therefore produce the purest product. Creatine produced in other countries such as China may be cheaper, but it not produced under the same strict standards. Less strict standards can result in a less pure product, meaning worse results for you and potentially negative side-effects from the impurities.
